Airport

Airport

Athens international airport is  Eleftherios Venizelos. 


  • Metro/subway: The blue line (#3) takes you to the airport in approximately 60 minutes . The cost is approx.  €9 .  Not all trains on this line go to the airport. Be sure to get on the ones identified as going to the airport. These airport train go by every 30 minutes.
  • Taxi: Time to get to the airport by taxi is very traffic dependent. The cost is approximately.  €60. 
  • Bus: Bus 96 takes approximately 90 minutes  to get there (traffic dependent).  The cost is approximately  €5.50 .

Harbour

Piraeus' harbour is one of the busiest one in Europe. This is where you'll catch your boat to the various islands.


The harbour is 1.5 km away from the condo - approximately 22 minute walk. You can also access it by metro or by taxi.

Metro / Subway

Athens and Piraeus area have a very efficient subway system. The closest metro station (blue line) is less than 750m away (approximately 10 minute walk).  


The blue line (line #3) brings you to the Acropolis in approximately 20 minutes and to the international airport in approximately 60 minutes. Not all trains on this line go to the airport. Be sure to get on the ones identified as going to the airport.

Downtown Athens is approximately 20 minutes away by metro.  You can also easily get there by bus, trolley or taxi.

The main grocery store in the area is Sklavenitis. There are 2 nearby on Motsopoulou street. The biggest one is here. It's opened:

  • Monday to Friday 8am to 9 pm
  • Saturday 8 am to 8 pm
  • Sunday: closed

The 2 closests pharmacies are less than 75 metres away:

  •  Tsalpatouros Antonis on Akti Motsopoulou (turn right as you excit the building)
  •  On Skouze street ( 30 21 0453 9329 )

There are litterally tons of restaurants in the area.


  • Many restaurants along the bay (those on the left side of the bay have patios on the water). All walking distance!


  • Another great area with lots of sea view options is in the Mikrolimano area. It's walking distance but probably best to go by cab. Here's a map and list of restaurants in that area.

 

  • Another spot with a more lively vibe is at the Zeas Marina, near the big yatchs at outter end of the bay. Here is how to get there.

There are 3 public beaches within walking distances.  These are close but fairly basic and without amenities:

  • Freatida beach (14 min. walk)
  • Votsalakia beach (24 min. walk)
  • Riviera beach (18 min. walk)


Many more developped beaches (some paying) are accessible within a 40 minutes  tramway ride (20 minutes by car).  These beaches include:

  • Glyfada Beach
  • Asteria Beach
  • Voula Beach


You can grab the tramway on Grigoriou Lampraki. It's a 9 minute walk.
